Enlarge You want to kill some time at the end of the day on Facebook rather than working, and log on to check your profile... again. But what's this, oh no, your boss has found you and has sent you a Friend Request! Well fear not, just follow this advice to protect yourself and your future prospects!

Step 1: Open privacy settings

Rejection could knee-cap your career, so accepting the boss' friend request is the only real option. But don't start trawling through all your photo's and Wall posts looking to delete any incriminating evidence.

Instead simply click on the privacy link of your profile, and scroll down to the bottom of the Privacy Overview Page.'
Then click on the 'edit settings' link under the 'Limited Profile Section.'

Step 2: Amend your limited profile list

Next, scroll down to the bottom of the 'Limited Profile Settings' page and type the first few letters of your boss' name into the input area. Their full profile name should appear in a drop down list. Select their name and then click on the 'add' box, to add them to your Limited Profile list.

Step 3: Specify your limited content

You now need to select what content your boss can see and what they can't. You should still be on the 'Limited Profile Settings' page. If there are certain things you don't want them to have access to such as your Wall, then simply untick the box that corresponds to your Wall information. This is the same for things like photo albums. Simply tick or untick those albums which you don't want them to have access to! The best thing of all is that your boss wont know you're limiting their access as any unavailable album's wont even appear in the first place!

Lets just hope that you're boss has been as cautious about their indiscretions as you. That day they told you they were at a meeting all afternoon? Looks like someone told a porkie!
